This student reported a year after her incident that she was raped, and the university then found the accused student not responsible. So, because of this, the student who was assaulted decided to carry a twin XL mattress around campus as a way to portray the burden she carried all throughout the period of when the assault happened up until her graduation. Later on, the accused student sued Columbia University saying that the individual’s mattress project was a form of gender discrimination as he said that the sex was consensual.
