Extra Credit #1
`This
documentary is focused on a program centered in the young community so that
parents, students, and educators understand the health issues and risks
associated with such products. Since the number of youth users us rising, the
program explains more about the product itself as well as the multiple uses of
these products, such as cannabis and nicotine consumption. I thought it was
very interesting to note that the seriousness of this issue leads the FDA to
actually label vaping as an epidemic in kids. The scary part of this epidemic
is that you don't know if you child is vaping since there is usually no smell
associated with the smoke. The younger you are, the more you are primed for
addiction. The big message from this documentary is that for most people,
especially those that are younger, vaping makes it harder to even quit smoking.
People's perception that vaping is less harmful than cigarettes is only true if
looked at a certain way: You might be getting less cancer-causing chemicals if
you vape, but most smokers die from lung and heart diseases.
I found
this documentary very useful to my research because I gained insight from many
doctors and healthcare professionals about their opinions on this epidemic and
the facts that people tend to ignore about vaping overall. This documentary
further proves that more research needs to be done in order to be more
convincing to the younger population to quit vaping before the effects
dramatically affect their health. It is shown from this documentary that people
are very uneducated about vaping and they are misled about what is in the vape
juice as well as how it affects them.
Glad you saw this documentary, which I chose (of course) just for you.... :-) Good post.
