RESEARCH BLOG #10: ABSTRACT AND WORKS CITED

Abstract
Vaping has become a popular trend among college students, many of whom are unaware of the dangers associated with using e-cigarettes. The Ecological Model helps to understand the social and environmental factors that initially influence e-cigarette use among college students. The popularity of vaping has motivated healthcare professionals to examine e-cigarettes and the fatal vaping related  illnesses associated with this trend. The overall perception in the community has allowed for e-cigarettes to be thought of as a “harmless” and better alternative to cigarettes, especially for those who are trying to quit smoking. This paper argues that the increasing use of e-cigarettes has caused various illnesses, which are severe especially for the youth that begin at a very young age. The need for effective intervention strategies are crucial in order to be successful to limit student vaping on campus and protect college students from picking up the habit.
